Severed Sky (working title)
Book Four of the Foldpair Saga
The lightning mage stands at the Chancellor's side. The broadsheets call it the end of the rebellion. Eamon calls it a rescue that hasn't worked yet.
About the book
A year into the strangest siege in history — the Rewoven feeding the capital better than the Council ever did — the Chancellor’s Spire holds the one thing that matters: Liora, woven into seamless obedience, her lightning conducting the lattice that is loading the sky like a weapon. But in the one room her captor’s craft can’t reach, she keeps the count, watches the spending, and stays awake inside her own compliance. Far below, Eamon works a soft seam in the tower and sends warmth up the fold to her every dawn, certain the fire isn’t out — because something keeps taking the wood in.
Then the Chancellor announces his great work will complete with the season: the age of small mendings ended, the age of balance begun. The siege is over. The real war begins. As the Rewoven mount a last assault on the Spire — and the sky itself rehearses its tearing — Eamon climbs toward the throne room, a sixteen-year-old chronicler keeps the war’s only honest record, and two siblings face each other across a staircase with blades that refuse to land.
When the sky breaks, so do we.
